It Is Ok To Relax And Just BE

Here you are, in your fourth room, your Spiritually Fit Room. I really do believe that sometimes it is the most important of the four rooms I talk about in my book The Powerhouse In You: How to lead with greater resilience, courage, and confidence. This is because it is really important that your foundation is solid. You need to know what fills your spirit up, what makes your heart smile, and what makes your spirit feel like it is stretching and enabling you to be the best possible version of yourself.

I’d like you to take this time as you are checking in with yourself and allowing yourself to really just be, to sit with the “being” part and ask yourself these 3 questions.

  • Is my need for meaningful connection being met?
  • What really makes my heart sing?
  • How can I nurture the relationships that will allow me to have the meaningful connection that I need?

I often hear the leaders that I am working with say things like:

 

“I feel like I’m the horse at the track.”

“I’m so busy just trying to check things off”.

“I don’t feel like I’m getting a lot done but I’m putting in a whole lot of hours”.

 

Do you find yourself saying those same things?

Here is where I invite you to allow yourself to PAUSE, RELAX and JUST BE. This will let you fill your spirit back up and then be able to get really clear.

Now for your homework.

Write down two things that you value as a leader that are important and that allow you to be you as a leader.

For me, I would have to say that I most value my faith and creativity. If I’m not in alignment with these two things, my spirit feels oppressed or I don’t feel very good about myself.

Knowing what those two key values are and what makes you unique as a leader is important because the number one cause of stress is forgetting to do it your way. As a leader, you are often so busy putting out fires and taking care of everyone else that you forget this.

Please, take this opportunity before the fall to allow yourself to check in, relax, and BE. Then your spirit will soar.

BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
BE more forgiving.
BE more loving.
