What Do YOU Need To Do To Help Your Heart Be Healthier?

by | Mar 10, 2022

This week, in our Happy Heart Series, we are now entering into your Physically Fit Room. As we do that, some of the questions that you want to ask yourself are, “ What is it that you need to do to help your heart be healthier and happier? Think about one thing that comes to mind right away. Whether it’s going for a daily walk, eating a healthy breakfast in the morning, or even eating at a suitable time at night. What’s the first thought that comes to mind?

I’ve shared my own battle with fighting off unhealthy habits in the past. One of the unhealthy behaviours that I caught myself doing was late-night snacking. I noticed that I usually like to snack on something at night while I’m watching TV. My body tends to associate watching TV at night with eating and snacking. And usually snacking on things that weren’t so great. So, I knew that was one habit that I needed to change in order for my heart to be happy. I decided that I need to make sure there would be no more food after I have had dinner. Not even healthy snacks!

I still snack on weekends, because it is okay to treat myself. However, it’s very important for me to maintain this healthy habit and routine for myself throughout the weekday. Why? Because it’s a one-part habit that I know has been a game-changer for me. I feel better in my body. My brain feels better. I feel more alert. I sleep better. My digestion is better.

So ask yourself, what is that one thing that has been a game-changer for you to stay healthy? Can you think of one thing that you know will have a huge impact on your heart health if you stopped doing it? Congratulations!

Now you have made room for a healthy habit that will work wonders for you.

What will you put in its place? For me, I build in quiet reading time for myself as a treat. This allows my body, mind, and spirit to wind down so I sleep better and wake up more refreshed.

Let’s make sure we maintain these healthy habits to have a healthier and happier heart. And let’s make sure we also continue to build new habits to have a healthier and happy heart.

Remember, you are a POWERHOUSE.

BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.

Wishing you a powerful week.
