What Do You Need To Let Go Of?

by | Mar 2, 2022

This week, to continue with our happy heart series, we’ve now entered into your Emotionally Fit Room. Now, as you enter into your Emotionally Fit Room, you have to ask yourself, “What is it that I need to let go of in order for my heart to be happy?” What thought, memory, habit, or action needs to be different so I change in order to have a better outcome?

The world is grieving and waking up and realising something very important. Just by looking at the ways in which unexpected events are happening and the rapid speed at which they are happening, we need to take a step back and take a look at old, unhealed wounds.

You need to ask yourself, WHO do I need to grow into in order to be the kind of person that I want to be? Perhaps, you want to be more patient or less judgmental with family or friends or you want to get your “brave on” and give yourself permission to say No more.

You need to take a look at HOW you can grow into that person. The answer is simple and necessary. You need to shed, you need to LET GO of anything that you might have regrets about. Things that you feel bad about. Things that you didn’t do, or things that you did do. This is how you conquer your emotionally fit room.

Let’s start with shedding. Are there people in your life who no longer fit who you want to become? Are there conversations or connections you would rather avoid or reduce?

One client shared she is tired of people who are stuck in fear regarding the pandemic and she is ready to move on in her life. She finds her energy gets sucked out of her by trying to listen to the same things over and over and over again.

Letting go takes many forms. Some great ways to let go include journaling, writing a letter to someone who never receives the letter, sharing with a trusted person (friend/coach), and of course therapy. When you don’t give yourself permission to let go your body keeps score resulting in aches and pains, illness, and even cancer. We will explore more about how hanging on to things impacts your body in our next room; your Physically Fit Room.

I absolutely LOVE the phrase, “When my heart is right, my world is right.” So what is it that YOU need to let go of in order for your heart to be right?

BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.

Wishing you a powerful week.
