Are You Paying Attention To What Makes Your Heart Sing?

by | Jun 14, 2022

Today we are continuing with the theme of not just belonging, but belonging to yourself.

You’ve now entered your Emotionally Fit Room. When you think of being in your Emotionally Fit Room, pause to check in with yourself.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Where do I feel like my heart sings?
  • Where do I feel connected to myself?
  • Where do I feel that I can be myself?

I don’t know about you but during this pandemic, it became so crystal clear that there are certain groups of friends, certain activities, and certain meetings, that brought me joy before, and now I’ve outgrown them. They’re not right or wrong, I’ve just outgrown them.

If you are truly belonging to yourself, you need to pay attention to what makes your heart sing and to take a look at what depletes your energy and what might not be a fit for you anymore.

My invitation to you, is over the next seven days, to pay attention to where your heart sings, and where it doesn’t.

That could include both:

  • Those people you spend time with that you feel just lift you up.
  • Those people you spend time with that leave you feeling depleted.

Be intentional moving forward in your Emotionally Fit Room. If you belong to yourself, whatever is happening in your life right now, you need to ask yourself if you have the bandwidth for listening to the vampires who are sucking you dry. As long as you keep listening to them, you aren’t listening to yourself.

As long as you keep listening to them, you are enabling them. This means they don’t have to get help and they don’t have to change. They can keep being the victim instead of looking for a solution and taking action.

Again, I invite you to take a look at what brings you joy, makes your heart sing, and allows you to belong to yourself.

Remember, YOU ARE A POWERHOUSE.

BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.
