This week, we are looking at our theme of “Speak Your Truth” from within your Physically Fit Room.
I’d like you to begin by imagining yourself walking into your physically fit room. How is it? What is your body trying to tell you? If you were to allow the truth to come out, what would your body say right now? Take a moment and pause. Would it tell you that it needs:
More rest, more breaks?
More water, less caffeine?
Less of the 3 White Deaths (flour, sugar, salt)?
What is it that your body needs right now? What would it look like if it could speak its own truth? My body is letting me know my lower back is sore because I forgot to stretch after raking the lawn yesterday. So between my massage later today and a hot epsom salt bath, I will remember to stretch after my next raking session.
We also have the inner world as well. By that, I mean The world of aches and pains. I often ask my leadership clients:
If your neck could speak, what would it say?
If your lower back could speak, what would it be telling you? What are they here to tell you and to teach you?
The same thing goes when it comes to speaking the truth about your body.
Sometimes you can take it a step further and ask yourself if you have been:
- Moving your body enough
- Allowing opportunities for your body to release the stress
- Building in time for meditation and mindfulness throughout your day
It doesn’t have to happen just in the morning or just at night. Personally, I am a big fan of early morning mindfulness because I believe that “how you start your day creates your day”. That being said, you can get a do-over anytime you want. You can start creating a more consistent habit now.
For the next seven days, my invitation to you is to take accountability and action and ask yourself:
If I you were to not only listen to your body but to allow it to speak it’s truth, what would it say to you? What is it that you need to do differently to get a different result?
I’d love for you to share this with your team and the other leaders in your organization because guess what: you aren’t the only one experiencing this.
Have a beautiful day.
And remember, you are a POWERHOUSE.
