Protect Your Peace By Changing Your Thoughts

by | Jan 26, 2022

Our next 4 part series is called Protect Your Peace. Over the next four weeks, I invite you to think about how you can Protect Your Peace.

Now it’s time for you to enter your first room, your Mentally Fit Room. Take a look around. What’s happening with the committee in your head? Your brain is like a computer. You think it, then you feel it, then you act it out. If what’s happening in your brain (those thoughts you are having)  isn’t helping you, then you need to change it.

Here is a really simple question I’d like you to think about:

“Is this thought helping me or harming me?”

If your answer is that it is harming you it is because it may keep you thinking about how stressed you are, how overwhelmed you are, and wondering how you are going to get everything done.

Once you realize that it is harming you, you need to take a nice, deep breath, release that harmful thought and replace it with something that is more helpful. A great example of a more helpful thought is:

“I am focused on the next right step with ease, with comfort, and with peace”

This exercise can take some practice but I know you will find it to be a game changer once you get the hang of it. It is so liberating to be able to reframe negative thoughts into ones that serve you well.

The added bonus here is that when you stress over the negatives less and focus on the positives more, you will have more time and energy to spend strengthening your meaningful connections to those who matter the most in your life, both professionally and personally.

I would love for you to share this with other people in your team and in your circle. And please let me know how this exercise worked for you.

BE more kind to yourself.
BE more compassionate.
Be more forgiving.
Be more loving.

Remember, you are a POWERHOUSE.

Wishing you a powerful week.
